BIOGRAPHY

Stefano Savazzi received the MSc (2004) and Ph.D. (2008) degree in Information Technology (both with honors) from the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, Politecnico di Milano. He was a Visiting Researcher at Uppsala University in 2005 (Signals and Systems), Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California San Diego (UCSD) in 2007 and Senior Researcher at Forschungszentrum Telekommunikation, Wien (ftw) in 2010.

In 2012 he joined the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR - Italian National Research Council) holding a permanent position as Researcher at the IEIIT. institute (Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering).

His current research interests include signal processing and networking aspects for wireless communications with special focus on cognitive and cooperative communication systems, wireless sensor networks for industrial automation and critical process control. Dr. Savazzi won the D.N. Chorafas Foundation Award for best Ph.D. dissertation.
