Short bio

I was born in 1989 in Casale Monferrato (AL). I got the Bachelor Degree and the Master Degree in Engineering of Computing Systems in Como (Sound and Music Engineering track). My thesis project concerned the development of an ontology for violin timbre description and the analysis of violin timbre. My supervisors were Professor Augusto Sarti and Dr. Massimiliano Zanoni, both from the ISPG group at DEIB. Now I am a PhD student and I work in the Laboratorio di Acustica Musicale that Politecnico opened in Cremona, where a multidisciplinary analysis on bowed instruments is conducted.

My interests include music (I play drums), musical instruments, electronics and cinema.

Current research

During my PhD research I focused on the development of audio processing and machine learning methodologies to analyse and model the sound quality of violins, both from an objective and subjective perspective. Currently I am working in the context of the INTERMUSIC project for the development of new technologies for remote music interaction.
